Overview: Effective Online Marketing w/ Nate Hagerty

Listen in to this great conversation that Nate Hagerty and Roger Knecht have to address issues and strategies surrounding online marketing to get the leads you need and how to then nurture them to become paying clients.

“Nothing happens until you make a sale” or get a client.  Regardless of how good we are at the services we offer, without paying clients it doesn’t matter.

Tax Marketing sounds great but too often we fail to get it done.  Regardless it is essential to grow the business.  So, let’s first accept that we all experience a lack follow-through

They will also discuss client relations, for example, who are you when it comes to your clients and which are you working with as well to build your business?  Let’s define each:

  • Mentor,
  • Contractor,
  • Advisor,
  • Coach

Today, marketing and selling are all about doing.  They’ll discuss SEO and SEM, considering the short-term and long-term play to build an online presence to attract potential clients and build the business.

Pay attention to hear what are 5 to 10 things you can do to improve your online presence? (Keep skyscrapers in mind) Maybe this is a question you’ve asked yourself, is a blog necessary or important to this process?  Also, hear what Nate has to say when you play the SEM game, such as are you focusing on your negative keywords?

They’ll discuss why Google Business Profile is a powerful resource that many don’t leverage and use to build your online presence.  Have you claimed your business profile?  Think about it.

Nate also makes a great point, all roads lead to your website, do you have a call to action there?  Consider using surveys as a way to engage your visitors.  And of course there is also email marketing, should you be doing it?  You need to hear this ?

In the end, also hear what Nate has to say about “Living in the NOW”!

So much to take in.  Listen and enjoy this next amazing episode.

About Our Guest: Nate Hagerty

Nate is a veteran of the tax and accounting industry for two decades — with a focus on digital marketing — Nate has established a reputation for straight-talk and results on behalf of members and agency clients and has become a widely followed and respected leadership and growth voice to the industry.

Nate created TaxProMarketer in May of 2007 in response to demand for relationship-oriented marketing implementation among his coaching clients. Now, 15 years later, the entire TaxProMarketer agency serves clients in the tax & accounting world all across the United States and Canada. Our clients use our services to build relationships with their prospects & existing clients, as well as to grow the value of their practice (for-profits now, and exits later).

Before TaxProMarketer, Nate was the Marketing Director of a regional firm in Virginia.
This firm grew from a small $50K/year practice to one which took in over $4MM in fee-based revenue (growing in less than ten years), with offices in Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee. From 2003 until 2007, he also worked as a coach and consultant to the tax and accounting industry, helping thousands of other practitioners in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK bring in more clients and lead their teams well.

Having founded and sold his first business by the age of 30, Mr. Hagerty (a member of Mensa) is a 3-time “40 Under 40” honoree by CPA Practice Advisor (alas, he’s now too dang old), has been published widely in industry publications and is the author & editor of two Amazon bestsellers (Breaking the Tax Code, Vols. 1 & 2).

The TaxProMarketer Digital Dominance Method not only algorithmically optimizes the various online properties for YOUR practice, but integrates Nate’s relationship-building expertise, his passion for effective and clear communication (informed by his English degree from the University of Virginia), and his gift for writing copy that sells.

He has been married for 20+ years (he loves his wife even more now) and has seven children — four of whom they adopted from Ethiopia and Uganda.
